True friendship knows no boundaries. This truth is what various odd animal friendships have been showing us all these years; friendships that we humans didn’t even expect to happen at all. And admit it, we just can’t get enough of these accounts. So as a great addition to these odd (yet inspiring stories), we bring you a heartwarming friendship between a dog and a deer.
The dog-deer duo was featured as the main stars in a show entitled “Animal Odd Couples,” which tells the life of these unlikely best friends. Their particular episode shows the door that opened the way for their lifetime friendship – an unfortunate event.
It all started when Isobel Springett, a farm owner, found a young and starved deer. The fowl was left to fend for herself by her mother.
So when Springett saw the deer’s pitiful condition, she decided to adopt her. Bringing back the deer to good health was not an easy feat, but the task was made easier thanks to her trusty assistant, her dog, Kate.
Growing together side by side, it is no wonder that the two different creatures formed a strong bond despite their significant differences. Their patience and understanding for each other also contributed a great part to their friendship.
As Pippin is technically a wild animal, she has a habit of sleeping somewhere in the forest and stays there for several days. But the deer never forgets to return to the farm to spend time with Springett, and of course, with her bestfriend Kate. So for Kate’s part, she tries her best to understand Pippin’s natural side.
After many years, the bond between the two animals is still as strong as ever, and they continue to learn (and love) the difference between each other. Now probably more so than ever thanks to the good news that Springett has kindly shared with us – Pippin is pregnant!
This means that their farm will eventually house a bigger family. It will surely be a bigger responsibility, but with the dog-deer-and-a-human team up, it will surely be a walk in the park to raise a bigger and happier family.
