In a world where there’s so much cruelty that happens every day, one act of kindness can mean the world to someone, especially for stray animals who no longer have anyone to care for them. Unfortunately, some people couldn’t be well bothered to extend that kindness. But one recent viral photo proved that there are still some people who do care about others.
The photo which was taken in Mumbai featured a man sharing an umbrella with a stray dog as the rain poured heavily. It was a very simple and heartwarming photo that made a lot of people have faith in humanity again.
As the story went, the man who was then waiting in front of Starbucks for the rain to subside was a Taj employee. On the other hand, the dog he was sharing his umbrella with was known by the hotel employees as Speedy, according to the content creator Scherezade Shroff. The photo earned so many likes on social media and even caught the attention of Ratan Tata, Tata Group’s Chairman Emeritus.
Ratan Tata even shared the photo on his Instagram with a caption praising the young man for the gesture. He also added that it was a gesture that would go a long way for stray dogs. The photo already raked in over a million likes with lots of positive and touching comments.
Tata has been well-known not only for his business but also for his love for dogs. In fact, Tata Group’s global headquarters called the Bombay House even has a special kennel made for stray dogs. The 83-year-old industrialist loves to talk about the dogs on his social media and he even has his favorites. One of them is a dog named Goa whom he affectionately refers to as his office companion.
This kind of thing is a very simple act but it speaks a wave of kindness that can inspire and encourage a lot of other people to do the same.
