Love is the strongest emotion that can give us hope when life seems to beat us down. This story is about Bobby, an orphaned Chihuahua who was only days old when his mom was hit and killed by a car. This poor baby lost his mom at a very early age and has no family to take care of him.
Bobby’s rescued and brought to the Michigan Humane Society, located in Bingham Farms. One of the shelter staff, Ryan McTigue, shared this heart-melting story on how Bobby found his new family — Gwen, a mother cat, and the five kittens that she’s currently nursing. Gwen is the only chance Bobby has, and miraculously, Gwen took care of Bobby like her child. She comforts the adorable puppy and feeds him just exactly how she does with her kittens.
The shelter staff’s amazed by how deep a mother’s love could be. An animal was able to show compassion to an orphan who’s not even her kind. Gwen’s maternal instinct is enough to accept Bobby as her own. According to McTigue, Gwen’s satisfied with her kittens playing, and Bobby fits right with her family. The shelter takes care of all the animals’ medical needs and will be under foster care until they grow up to be independent and find their human families who would take care of them eventually.
It’s true when people say that love knows no bounds. Whether it’s a human being or an animal, there’s no limitation when it comes to love. Everyone is capable of feeling this emotion. There’s no barrier to age, race, preference, and in Bobby’s case, his breed. Gwen, a cat, lovingly embraced Bobby, a dog, to her family. She literally and figuratively gave Bobby warmth, which led to her kittens do the same to the orphaned puppy. Bobby’s story touched the hearts of many people, and it garnered over fifty-thousand views on the Michigan Humane Society’s Facebook page.
