Aaron and Tara brought their dog Chevy to have his leg checked. Aaron was building a fence one day when Chevy came running towards him. Chevy was screaming in pain and suddenly fell. They saw that his leg was swollen, but they didn’t know what made it that way.
They love Chevy’s personality, as he is always playful and loving. The couple loves Chevy so much that they treat him like their son. The couple wants to do everything they can for him.
They went to an emergency clinic and had x-rays done. They saw that Chevy’s bones were broken in several pieces. The first vet that they went to recommended amputation. The couple wanted to try and save the leg first.
The couple heard about Dr. Jeff’s clinic and tried their luck there. Dr. Don Kraft was attending them. The doctor informed the couple that they were going to try and keep the leg. If they do see a bone that has no blood supply, they might not be able to put it back to its original place.
They may result in amputation in this case. Dr. Kraft had help from Dr. Petra, who is a fantastic surgeon. Both of them worked on Chevy, where they placed the pins on his legs. They also put a cast on it to make sure that it stays the way it is.
Aaron and Tara are glad that Chevy is not in pain anymore. The doctor was very straightforward in informing them that they are not totally out of the woods yet.
They need to observe and get x-rays every two weeks. They need to make sure that all the bone fragments still have a blood supply. It is also essential for them to keep the cast intact.
Aaron and Tara are grateful that the doctors do not resort to amputation immediately. They can now brain Chevy home pain-free.
