Military doggos are some of the best and bravest fur babies out there. They have to overcome different kinds of scary situations so that they can do their job effectively. They have to get used to fighting people, they have to get used to loud noises, and sometimes, they have to go parachuting.
In China, one brave military pup had just finished his first parachuting mission; his name is Dingdang. But before he took to the skies, a lot of preparation was done by Wang Zhong, his handler. Wang is an experienced paratrooper for the Chinese Army, and he knows the dangers of parachuting all too well.
The paratrooper designed a special type of training so that Dingdang will get used to the movements that they will make. They used swings so that the doggo would get used to moving in the air while being attached to his handler. We all know how dogs can panic once subjected to new environments.
They also practiced their landing so that the pup will get accustomed to Wang’s movements before landing, which is a crucial part of parachuting. The soldier also had to design the gear that Dingdang will be wearing for the exercise. First off, he created a vest that will be attached to his body so that they will be together the entire time during the exercise.
He also fashioned a muzzle to prevent the pooch from biting just in case he panics while being high up in the air. Wang fitted Dingdang with paw protectors too so that his paws will not get hut hurt when they land. The last piece of gear that was fitted on him was an eye mask.
If humans need to protect their eyes while parachuting, dogs do too. Overall, this parachuting pooch was well-protected and well-prepared for the airborne mission. Wang wouldn’t have pushed through with it if he felt that Dingdang wasn’t ready. Because not only is the doggo his partner, but his best bud too.
