Sweet Pooch Comforts Boy With Autism Every Time He Has Nightmares

Sweet Pooch Comforts Boy With Autism Every Time He Has Nightmares

ICEMAN February 23, 2020

Dogs are innately sweet animals. Even if we do not tell them what we feel, dogs have a strong intuition about how we think. This is the reason why most dogs would often go near their humans whenever the latter feels lonely. But dogs are also their during the happy moments of their humans.

This dog, however, is different from the rest. While Lego is just like many dogs who know how to comfort their humans, he does it differently. Lego’s human, Tupper, got diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder when the child was two-years-old. Tupper’s condition prevents him from having a good night’s sleep. More often than not, the young boy always wakes up due to a bad dream.

This is where Lego’s duty comes into action. The dog would often comfort Tupper when the latter experiences bad dreams. When the young boy begins shouting while asleep, Lego already knows that Tupper is having nightmares.

Lego makes sure that he is beside Tupper whenever the boy goes to bed because he plays a vital role in the boy’s life. He understands his part, and Lego does it well. According to Tupper’s mom, Nancy, the dog would often hug and cuddle with Tupper whenever the boy has nightmares.

Each time the dog does this act, the young boy would stop screaming. It became apparent to Nancy that Tupper’s kryptonite is Lego. Nancy is thankful for all the dog has done to her son. If not for Lego’s constant assurance to her son, Nancy does not know what to do.

But more than the calm he provides to Tupper, Lego always gives the young boy companionship. Nancy understands that due to the boy’s condition, it would be difficult for Tupper to live a normal life. But because of Lego’s presence, the boy has been given a chance to live normally.

I consider myself an expert about dogs. I have been a dog owner since I was 8 years old. I love all kinds of dogs, and I try to learn more about the different varieties of dogs as well. Due to some medical complications, I cannot work and I currently live on Disability at the age of 57. I continually try to help my elderly parents stay at home, so that they will not contract this deadly virus. This site will considerably help my family cope with the additional costs associated with not being able to work and the effects of the Coronavirus Pandemic. I pretty am at home everyday working online, except for when I need supplies and groceries. I hope to be able to make this website generate the lost income that I have not been able to earn since 2011. I live in Joplin, MO with my family.
