Whenever you watch TV, and you see a dog as one of the characters, you know that the pooch will get into a fight with a cat at some point. They’ll run around, exchange barks and meows, and the only time that things will simmer down is when one of the two parties needs to relocate.
No one knows why dogs and cats are always pinned against each other. Heck, no one even knows where that stereotype came from! However, the funny thing is, no matter how canines and felines are made to fight each other in TV series, movies, and books, that’s not how things are in real life.
The Corgi and cat duo
One classic example is Mango and Lucy, the Corgi and cat duo that’s earned admiration from people all over the world. They love doing everything together, and it doesn’t bother them that they’re from different species.
Cats enjoy grooming their fellow felines, and this is something that Mango loves to do for Lucy. He’d lick the pooch to make sure she’s clean. The Corgi doesn’t mind, of course.
For Lucy’s part, well, she shows that she respects and honors Mango by letting him rub her belly. She’d roll over and let the cat give her belly rubs, which is a sign of submission. This also shows that Lucy doesn’t see Mango as a threat and that she’s very comfortable with him.
Friends for keeps
According to their owners, Mango and Lucy have been inseparable since day one. They created special spaces in their hearts for each other the moment they met. The Corgi and cat duo are proof that lots of beautiful things can happen when we set our differences aside. Case in point: a daily supply of grooming and belly rubs.
